Working Methods

He has adopted various working methods to ensure accuracy and quality in his translations. To this end, he prefers to work in fields that he specializes in and only accepts assignments that he will be able to deliver in time.

He is of the opinion that when he completely understands the documents and grasps what the target audience needs, it is much easier to ensure accuracy and quality. This comprehension is also very useful in ensuring that every part of the final document makes sense to the readers - because he always assumes that if he can't make sense of something, the target audience won't too.

After receiving an assignment, he initially scans the document(s) and asks ambiguous terms to the agency/client and/or offers alternatives to them.

After finishing the translation, he matches the original document with the translation, line by line. He determines and sorts out possible meaning deviations and corrects errors in style at this stage.

For spelling/grammar errors, he does the checks himself. He is very good at this, since he did this job for more than ten years as part of his tasks. During the years he worked in print publications, he usually read the articles himself.

For rush projects or documents that he translates into English, he requests a spelling/grammar check from some other available professional.

Finally, for projects that include a small but significant portion of terminology in fields that are foreign to him, he either spends some time researching to prepare a list of these terms and their translations and he gets this list approved by a specialist in that field or preferably, he collaborates with a specialist in that field for that portion of the work.

As for "after-sales services", he always offers to check the final documents created using the translations, to filter possible errors that creep in during the layout stage.
