I highly recommend Selçuk Budak, without
hesitation, for English – Turkish translations or for Search
Engine Optimization projects.
Selçuk... continues to offer his professional
insight on a regular basis. He is an authority in the dynamic
field of Search Engine Optimization, where algorithms for top
placements are constantly changing. I rely on him to guide us in
the right direction. ... the foundation of Selçuk’s knowledge
is strong, but what’s even more significant is how he approaches
his work – so I feel confident that he can build on what he
knows today, to competently address the issues of tomorrow.

Background
"The only thing I consistently maintained since 1980s is
my career as a freelance Turkish translator, and the primary reason
for my long persistence in freelance business is my sense of
freedom that I cherish much!"
His university life spanning a whole decade marks his ability
to offer translation services in a diverse range of fields: He
started at the College of Banking and Insurance, Ankara
University. After the first year, thinking that banking as a
career is not for him, dropped the College in favor of Mechanical
Engineering at the Middle East Technical University (METU), only
to drop it after the fourth semester this time in favor of a
Psychology major at METU. And obtained his BA in Psychology there.
During his education, he translated all books by Karen Horney,
and two books by Erich Fromm. Meanwhile, he worked as a freelance
translator translating operation and maintenance manuals in
Automotive industry. For two years, he translated operation and maintenance manuals for
TV production equipment such as cameras, switchers, etc for the
Turkish Radio and Television Institution for which also
translated a book titled Television Production: An
Introduction as a "ghost translator."
After graduation, he enrolled to a MA program in Philosophy,
but quitted after the second semester out of loss of interest.
Career as a Freelance Turkish Language Translator
Since 1984, he worked both as an
in-house as well as freelance translator with some agencies in
Ankara, and Istanbul in Turkey. Thus far, he translated,
edited/compiled 27 books, and more than 20 million source words
within a period spanning over 20 years. Please visit following
